Employee Spotlight: Jessie Biber, OTR/L

Welcome to the team! Jessie is our newest addition to the pediatric occupational therapy team of McRory Pediatric Services, Encino location. Jessie is a graduate of the University of Southern California, and came to the company with extensive experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder. During the short time that she has been with us, she has already proven to be a great asset to the clinic in general but also to the Building Bridges Intensive Early Intervention Program for Children with Autism & Related Disorders.
What Jessie enjoys most about working in the field of pediatrics is the different personalities of children. She says that, “If a day goes by where I’m not laughing until I cry, then it’s not a good day”. Jessie further stated that she loves the team approach of working at McRory Pediatrics, and feels that is a very supportive environment and enjoys the collaboration.
In her downtime, Jessie enjoys music, playing guitar, and swimming. She enjoys spending time on Spotify, a music-streaming site.
Some fun facts: She worked with children at Disneyworld’s Animal Kingdom, and has driven across the country 3 times!

OT Month

April marks Occupational Therapy Month, and McRory Pediatrics is honored to recognize our exceptional OT department in our Encino & Valencia locations.

Occupational Therapy is an integral part of the services that McRory Pediatrics offers. Our OT’s evaluate a child’s strengths, as well as difficulties in critical developmental areas, and design interventions that promote the healthy development of skills needed for success in daily tasks. Through meaningful activities and play, our OT’s facilitate the development of age appropriate skills.
From working on feeding skills, fine motor skills, play skills, self-help skills or sensory integration dysfunction, our OT’s always ensure that they have fun and that the kids have fun too!
Thank you Anna, LeeAnn, Erin, Meghann, Tori, Katie, Jessie & Meri for all of your hard work & dedication to your field and the clinic in general ~ Happy OT Month!

Employee of the Month

Congratulations Nashia on being our April Employee of the Month!

Nashia has proven to be an excellent behavior therapist. She works with a client who has many challenges and she continuously and independently comes up with innovative ideas to keep him progressing. She turns his data into a colorful, easy to read, graph each day and reviews it with him to discuss with him specifically how his day went. She creates board games using plain pieces of white computer paper, drawing things that he is invested in, and using these games not only as reinforcement but also as a way of getting him to be social. The strategies that she employs to assist her client at school with his behaviorial goals are so thoughtful, so well-planned, and therefore extremely successful. She is truly amazing.
